So let's see... Saturday I closed at work. Sunday was the last Yanks/Mets game of the year and it started a good 65 minutes late because of rain. And then it rained hits by the Yankees... I was not pleased. After that on Monday I didn't do much during the day and then saw Superman at night with Jeff who had come home for the weekend. I closed on the 4th, which wasn't too bad considering we closed at 6 that day. Then on Wednesday I opened. Thursday I don't think I got up until noon and the day was pretty much shot. Today nothing much happened. Went to the Lashely signing, pretty much an in and out affair. Left at 6:20 and was home by 7:50 and that's with a 30 minute drive there and back. At least the next signing seems to be a good one.

So it's been a few weeks. Not much happening during that time. I dropped all three of my summer classes so all that I've been doing is working, which has mostly been 2-3 days a week, so the rest of the time is consumed by watching DVDs and the what has now become weekly trip to the city. June 10th was the RVD signing which was in a new space in the mall that isn't too conducive to the lining up and standing environment. And this time there were even more extraneous staff members near the signing table blocking your path. I did at least get to tell RVD to "Take care of that hack tomorrow night" referring to that joke Cena, who RVD then beat for the WWE title at ECW One Night Stand on June 11th. And now ECW is back on Sci-Fi, which hasn't really impressed me that much in its first three editions. Hopefully it'll get better, but I know that it probably won't because of Vine's influence. The Wednesday after that I went to the city to see "The Threepenny Opera" and "Doubt". "Threepenny" was really weird... not much of a set, but the music was really cool. Alam Cumming and Ana Gasteyer were in it. Hopefully a recording of it gets made. Of course autographs were gotten after the show. Then I saw "Doubt" which is a play about a nun who is a headmaster of a Catholic school who suspects one of the Fathers of having sexually abused the school's only black student. It was a lot funnier than I had anticipated while I was reading it months ago. Thoroughly enjoyable, but unfortunately it closes on Sunday so I won't get to see that again. Jena Malone from "Saved" was in it and I got her autograph after the show. Ironically there were only two people waiting after the show: myself and Cara, my now ex-girlfriend who went with me to both shows. The following Wednesday I went into the city alone to the MOMA to see the new exhibit they have on the DADA movement. It was a really interesting exhibit, I think I'm going to go back sometime during the summer to see it again, especially because I get in for free with my SUNY ID, as opposed to paying the $20 mandatory admission fee. It's not like the Met where admission is a suggested donation. After that I went to "Sweeney Todd". It was my second time seeing it, the first being back in January. It was even better this time around. It's a really dark show with a gothicesque feel to it. Student rush tickets are definitely worth it! Only 36 bucks compared to 111 normally. The following Wednesday (6.28) I went to the city again and saw "The Lieutenant of Inishmore" which is a play written by Martin McDonagh, who wrote "The Pillowman". For info on Pillowman go back into my journal for last August. It's about an Irish terrorist with an obsession with his cat, Wee Thomas and when Wee Thomas is killed, he gets mad.... really feckin' mad. It's basically like if Tarantino wrote a stage play. Extremely funny with absurd amounts of gore, spewing blood and cut up body parts. And a ridiculously awesome twist ending. These tickets were even cheaper only 26. After that there was a cd signing for The Drowsy Chaperone at the Virgin Megastore in Times Square. The Drowsy Chaperone was robbed of the best musical tony by a show about some people from Jersey... but whatever. I saw this show back in April and again in May so it was nice to be able to get the cd signed. And I got the five actors I was missing on my signed playbill from April. After that I met up with Jeff and we hung out/had dinner for a few hours. Then I worked on Thursday and Friday. Friday night was Game 1 of the second Subway Series of the year. The game started at 7:10 but because of the horrendous traffic, really creepy parking lots, and slow concession stand staff we didn't sit down in our seats until 8:01 in the bottom of the third inning. Within 15 minutes the rain came and the game was delayed for 1 hour and 8 minutes. Justin and I of course stayed outside for all of the delay, save the time it took to go inside and buy a pretzel, which was soggy to begin with! It was a situation that you just have to laugh at. At least we made good time on the way home. I am disappointed that the Mets lost but at the moment they are winning by five in the second game.

Wow that was a long ass update, I think next time I'll discuss this whole law school thing...

It took quite a while but I got my last grade. So this past semester stood at B+, A-, A, A, and A. I'm quite happy with that, the best semester I've had at college yet.

The semester is finally over. I ended up with 3 As and a B+ thus far. I have another grade pending because one of my professors lost about 30 of the classes final papers, so yeah.... A happy belated fourth birthday to my LJ and that's about all for now.

So it's the final week of classes. Went to the Yankee game on Friday, which was fun. Thanks for bringing me J. I just have one three page paper for next Wednesday and a few papers to revise for this Wednesday left to do. And I only have three finals, so it's almost all over.

NOOOOO!!! Spring Break is over!!!... not cool.

I did at least get a lot of work done (reading, not paper-writing wise) during the break. There are only three more weeks of classes. This semester seems to have gone by fairly quickly. I still do have a 3 page paper for Wednesday and a 10 page one for next Thursday to write but they shouldn't be too bad. This week was fairly uneventful. I probably slept until noon everyday. I worked Tuesday night and went to the city of Thursday night. The Odd Couple was enjoyable enough and I got an autograph from Matthew Broderick afterwards.

So it's been another week so it's time for another post. A good week for the Mets thus far going 4-1. I hope they can keep it up. Anyway I'm finally on spring break. This was a really long time coming, but I'm glad it's finally here. After this week only three more weeks of classes and three finals. And for the rest of this break I only have a three page paper for my US Crime and Police class and to work on my 10 page paper for Crusades that isn't due until the end of the month. On Friday was supposed to be The Drowsy Chaperone with Cara, but Cara got sick so I went alone. But I was able to sell the extra tickets to some tourists, so no money lost. I enjoyed the show it was just weird watching it alone and then going to get autographs afterwards. I was probably the only straight male within 30 foot radius, but I digress.

It's been almost another week so I guess it's time for another entry. Let's see week 10 is now done and I only have three more days of classes until spring break. It's insane how late spring break is this year. The 12th week?!? At least it'll be a short run for the last part of the semester and then only three finals (one of them open-book) and I'll be done for a week and then summer semester starts. I'm currently taking a break writing about the preaching of the First Crusade. After this one I have another paper to do for another class on the Fourth Crusade. I'm enjoying the Medieval History this semester though. So Saturday was the Joe Montana signing. He was supposed to start at 11 and because I ordered my tickets already we left around 10:15 and got there about 12. It was in Edison, which is more or less Central NJ. We then waited online for about 45 minutes on the will call line to pick up my tickets. So I get my tickets and the ditz behind the table says "Oh sorry, Montana cancelled sorry" I proceeded to get angry because they could have easily posted this information on their website on Saturday morning, saving many people from making a long trip for no reason. So then we had to go inside the show itself to get a refund. This line took another 45 minutes, but I forced them to give me back the price of the admission tickets that I had also pre-ordered. So at least I didn't lose any money aside from gas and tolls. Highly annoying especially when they knew Friday night that he wasn't coming. So we left at 1:30 and I had to go to close at Borders that night. So I went straight from NJ to Borders and got there at 3:32. Work wasn't anything worth mentioning and yesterday not much happened except for a quick round trip to manorville and back for the wrestlemania that wasn't. As for Wrestlemania apparently HHH was in Beastmaster and John Cena is a gangster. Those factors don't make for a decent match. Foley vs. Edge was the match of the night and I give Mick a lot of credit for those insane bumps that he took.

As I was informed today by Sarah I haven't updated my countdowns in a while or posted an entry. So I guess I'll have to rectify that now.
Anyway, in the last entry I neglected to talk about the Jerry Rice signing from a few weeks ago. The show was set up really well and they actually called people in ticket order as opposed to other places. I had 22 for Rice so it was a quick event. He was really nice and was able to restrain myself from calling him "twinkle toes" as Justin suggested I do. I was able to get a picture with him, and this time I'm not making that weird neck tilt thing that I usually end up doing which makes all of my pics with famous people look disturbing. Once I figure out how to extract that from my dad's new digital camera I'll post it. And this Saturday the other side of the mini-helmet will be signed by Joe Montana. I'll take pics of that when it's completed as well. As for the semester ten weeks are nearly complete, so we're 66% done. And the better part is that two of my classes for Thursday are cancelled because my professor are going to the Medieval Academy of America conference. I'm thankful for nerdy historian coventions. As for grades I got my Crusades midterm back, an A, my Late Middle Ages paper, an A-, and my Latin American midterm, an A-. So thus far the semester is looking promising grade-wise. Hopefully I'll be able to bring up the ol' GPA before applying to law school. Thankfully there is only one more week until spring break, and then only three short weeks afterwards. Overall I'd have to say that this has been the first enjoyable sememster I've had out of my three years in college... it took long enough.

Now the semester is more than half over with the end of week 8. I got back my Crusasdes midterm, which I got an A on. That rocks because that was a fairly hard test. I'm amazed how late spring break is this year. There are still three more weeks (including this week) before spring break starts. I'm starting to get tired and need a break, eventhough I'll have two papers and another exam to study for during the break, it'll be a well needed rest. In other news they're cutting hours at work, so this week I'm only working two days, but honestly I don't care that much because it gives me another night to get ahead in school work and I can manage without the extra fifty bucks this week. It's not like I have rent or bills. So my birthday was last Thursday. Not really a grand celebration or anything, but I went to Red Lobster with my girlfriend and parents. I got my new drivers license in the mail today, which is really weird looking. It also has this weird wavelength hologram across the middle. Friday night was the Kurt Angle signing. OMG so many freaking people. It was worse than the Batista signing last month that went around the outside of the mall in Massapequa and was larger than any signing for John Cena. It was at least 600-700 people in an abandoned Old Navy store. Insanity! I have a new item to add to the countdown. I'm going back to NJ on April 1st to get the other side of my Jerry Rice mini-helmt signed by Joe Montana, so that completes my birthday present from my parents.

I'm positive I just heard a Budweiser commmercial that had George Clooney as the narrator...very weird.

Anyway so now week 7 is completed. Yesterday was my Crusades midterm. Wasn't too hard and as an added bonus I got the guy next to me kicked out of the test. He had a crib sheet in his lap and he kept referring to it, which normally wouldn't bother me, but he kept refolding it everytime he used it and it was very distracting. So I signaled the professor and pretended to be asking a question about the test and told her what he was doing. And she was pretty funny, she walked past him a few times and then said "so what's in your hand there?" and then picked him out. Good times

So tomorrow my dad and I are going to NJ for an autograph signing of Jerry Rice. Should be fun.. but then again it's NJ, but at least my dad is driving so we will not end up back in NJ again before getting home.

Yeah week 6 is complete. Also the snow yesterday cancelled my last class and forced my store to close at 8 last night, so I got out of work more than 3 hours early last night! In the next two weeks I have two midterms, two papers, a proposal for a research paper and a quiz. At least when all of that is done it'll be my birthday, so that's something to look forward to. I'm just glad this semester is going so quickly, because as much as I'm enjoying my classes this semester, I just don't like the work involved. I'd rather just go and learn stuff and then leave and have that be it. Too bad that only works in my fantasy academic world.

Alright five weeks done, which means a third of the semester is already over. It really has been a fast-moving semester thus far, which is great. This is the first semester I've had where all of my classes have kept my attention and I've been keeping up fairly well with my attendance, which was not stellar the last few semesters. So after this semester I'll take two or three classes over the summer and then five during the Fall semester and I'll be done. I really need to start looking into law schools and their requirements, plus the financial end of it. Maybe I won't even go and I'll just stay in Stony Brook and get a masters in History and go from there. At this point I think either option is equally likely to happen.
